Jerry Markham is a prolific, nationally recognized scholar and proven classroom teacher in the fields of corporate finance, banking, securities and derivatives.

Jerry Markham is a Professor of Law at Florida International University College of Law at Miami. He was previously a tenured Professor of Law at the University of North Carolina for 12 years. Before that, he served for 10 years as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University School of Law in Washington, D.C.

 

Professor Markham’s published works have been cited by the Supreme Court, numerous other federal and state courts and in some 700 professional publications. Professor Markham’s three-volume Financial History of the United States was selected as a Choice Outstanding Academic Title.

 

Prior to academia, Professor Markham served as Secretary and Counsel for the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Inc (CBOE); as Chief Counsel, Division of Enforcement, United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission; as an attorney at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); and partner in the international firm of Rogers and Wells (now Clifford Chance).
